28 SCSTC members took advantage of a private tour of the Cape Canaveral lighthouse, keeper’s cottage, Hanger C Space Museum and Launch Complex-26 (LC-26) Museum. The lighthouse has stood on the Cape for over 150 years and is a significant piece of our Brevard coastal heritage. The tour started at the Sands Space History Center parking lot just outside the south gate of Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Volunteers from the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation arranged this tour, escorted us to the sites and provided guided tours of the lighthouse and museums. We returned to the Sands Space History Center at 1:15 PM and most members headed to Port Canaveral for a group lunch. Many thanks to Mary Ann and her staff at the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation for this unique tour opportunity.
