What a great group of travelers! We had 52 travelers attend Snowmass for the January 18-25 FSC trip. We stayed at Crestwood Condominiums, which we believe was a first for the club, and it was great. The location was fantastic; it was a ski in/ski out location with ski and boot storage right at the slopes, and walking distance to Snowmass Village where you could conveniently take the “Skittles” gondola up to the Snowmass Mall. The condos varied in sizes and styles, but overall most of the group was very happy with the choice. For future trip, there are no elevators at this property. If help is needed with luggage, the front desk can be contacted. The Crestwood offered free airport transportation, which was a plus for our air groups and those who traveled on their own. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There were 3 nice hot tubs and a heated pool.

The Monday night party at Base Camp, and although crowded (as there were nearly 460 FSC travelers) most people enjoyed it and there was a lot of dancing with a great DJ. Who knew SCSTC had such great dancers?! Tuesday night was our club dinner at The Edge with wonderful food and time for everyone to mingle with just our club. The normal Thursday night farewell party was held on Friday night due to availability. It was held at the Viewline, in a large conference room, and the theme was Rockin’ to the 70’s. Our people looked fantastic in their 70’s garb dressed as hippies, flower children, and disco queens and kings! The food was excellent and enjoyed by all. Most of the feedback was that people preferred the event on Thursday night, instead of Friday, which is understandable.

Our club also had a team participate in the FSC “Pauline’s Cup” Race and had a good showing. Everyone made it down safely and there were many first time racers. Three of our racers earned bronze medals, Michael Stelzer, Mike Steininger and Alison LaMarre. Michael Stelzer was once again the most enthusiastic and organized race captain ever!

Although we had very cold weather, we all toughed it out and had a good week of skiing.

Regarding air, we had 2 separate groups, 22 in the United group and 13 in the American group, both flying in and out of Aspen. The United group made into Aspen, but because of wind conditions the American group had to land in Grand Junction and be bused, but it was a very pretty ride to Aspen that went by quickly. The flights back to FL were fine.

We worked with Snowmass Sports for rentals and they were great to work with. They even stayed late on Saturday because of the flight delay into Grand Junction. We would highly recommend them.

Marcie Hawks with ski.com is absolutely fabulous to work with. She is so helpful and extremely timely in responding to questions/concerns and is very professional and proactive.

Sincerely, Debbie Steininger and Ellen Parda
