A group of 28 Space Coast trippers had a great 2 weeks in Croatia. The journey started in Dubrovnik with a tour of old town and a welcome dinner overlooking old town at Posat restaurant’s rooftop seating (one of Dubrovnik’s best). We traveled to the Adriatic Sea Islands of Lopud, Mljet, Brac and Vis via interisland ferry, private ferry and a replica of a 16th century merchant ship. During our stays on the islands, we hiked and kayaked in clear blue water. In Mljet we explored the Mljet National Park via kayaking and hiking followed by a wonderful meal in the park. Several wineries were visited on the Peninsula of Peljesac where good wine was sampled. On Brac we toured the island in old Soviet transport vehicles. After exploring the islands, we returned to the mainland at Split. We toured and tasted Split’s markets and old town with free time to explore the markets and city on our own. Our next stop was Zadar and Plitvice Lakes National Park. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we had a shortened bike ride and hike in the rain, though we saw the waterfalls with sun popping out. Our last day was spent bussing back to Dubrovnik for a farewell dinner and a very early pickup for the airport. The Croatian people are very friendly with fantastic food all around.
