We had a fabulous 2 weeks in Ireland. We started our tour in Dublin and a panoramic tour of the city, including beautiful Trinity College, where we saw the Book of Kells. Next we toured Christchurch Cathedral and the Guinness Storehouse/Brewery, enjoying a pint of Guinness in the Gravity Bar. We finished the day with a tour of Dublin Liberties Distillery. The next day was on to Belfast, where we had a city tour and visited the Titanic Belfast Centre.
The next part of our journey was along the beautiful North Antrim Coast, visiting the fabulous Giant’s Causeway and enjoying a city tour of Derry. We then ventured on to Galway, with a stop at Knock Shrine along the way. While in Galway, 4 of us enjoyed a round of golf at Galway Bay Country Club and the rest of the group traveled through the spectacular Connemara Region, visiting Kylemore Abbey. We thoroughly enjoyed a visit to a working sheep farm, feeding a baby lamb, seeing sheep herding and finishing off with homemade scones.
While in Killarney, we took 2 incredibly scenic drives, one through the Dingle Peninsula and one through the Ring of Kerry, stopping at a coastal town each day. We had a perfect weather day to visit the Blarney Castle and kiss/observe the Blarney Stone. Our group dinner at Kate Kearneys Cottage was unique and memorable. While enjoying wonderful Irish food, we had musicians and Irish dancers entertain us. In Limerick we concluded our trip with a medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle.
This was a wonderful way to see so many beautiful sights in Ireland. We had 27 in the group and I believe everyone had a fantastic time.
